Peace building remains critical in our societies for Sustainable Development as the two are inter linked and can not be separated. The youth constitute more than 67% of Zimbabwe's total population and their participation towards Peace building must not be underestimated. The potential of the youth if unlocked results in the attainment of sustainable Peace. Zimbabwe having witnessed various violence cases as seen before and during the previous election periods remains prone to various forms of violence. These can only be out-done by coming together of all stakeholders, joining hands and shunning all forms of violence and to be champions of Peace always.
Being the official representative of Youth in the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC), an independent Commission under the Zimbabwe Constitution Chapater 12, the National Association of Youth Organizations (NAYO) is engaging the youth in all the 10 Provinces of Zimbabwe in Peace building issues for the Youth to be key drivers of Peace Building at all levels. NAYO and NPRC are moving to all the Provinces conducting Provincial Outreaches and setting up Provincial Peace Committees to ensure the building, promotion amd maintenance of Peace in Zimbabwe.
