I am passionate about sharing knowledge and experience that can drive, influence and inspire positive change through storytelling using digital media. I use filmmaking and photography to address development challenges and inequalities that affect the female youth and thereby provide the right environment and conditions to empower and engage with these women. In turn, they contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals eight; decent work and economic growth, nine; industry, innovation and infrastructure, ten; reduce inequalities and eleven; sustainable cities and communities. In the area of youth inclusion in Nigeria’s democratic governance and citizens active role in credible elections, I work as a Media and Communications Assistant for YIAGA AFRICA and a Data Clerk for the organisations Watching The Vote elections project. This objective is important to me because this initiative enables independent citizen observers to observe the conduct of elections in Nigeria. My actions with the Accountability and Social Justice department of YIAGA AFRICA’s SCRAP-C (Strengthening citizens Resistance Against Prevalence of Corruption) and Bounce Corruption campaigns reflects the fight against corruption, being responsible citizens and engaging communities for social change. Corruption has become endemic and pervasive in Nigeria and has become a major obstacle to human and national development. The Bounce Corruption project mainstreams citizens especially youths in the fight against corruption in Nigeria. I provide them with the necessary information and tools to engage and demand accountability in the public and private sectors in Nigeria. I am invested in making audio-visuals as a channel for reflection and critical debate on the complex situation of corruption in the country. I am tasked with the media coverage and visibility of the project especially the Youth Anti-corruption Debate and partnership with state and non-state anti-corruption stakeholders in Nigeria. I am also passionate about providing soft skills, academia and entrepreneurial skills and funding for disadvantaged school children. It is important that disadvantaged children develop relevant skills that will help them survive life after secondary school in their career path and as active citizens of their society.
