How I want to make an Impact

My childhood was a normal one. I did not face any real trouble of any kind. But when I was in the seventh grade, one incident moved me greatly. One of my closest friends from school was going to be married off at that time forcefully by her parents. She was really shocked by such decision, and she cried her heart out. But her family paid little attention. At the day of her marriage ceremony, her classmates, us, did the unthinkable. We entered that place, nearly caused a riot, and finally the authority came to that place and stopped that child marriage from happening. That was the first of many for me. Since that incident, I have worked voluntarily with several organizations to stop child marriage. I also worked on child rights issues. I think I possess the will to bring positive change in my surroundings, and this is what makes me a changemaker. I want to join Youthlead because this platform really interests me. It seems to be such a platform to me where changemakers from diverse backgrounds can share their expertise and hone their skills together. This is why I want to join.

Hello, Kamrul Shawon!

My name is Honique Sun, and it is a pleasure to meet you! I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. I am now working with a team of students to better understand the best models for providing education, health, and employment services to youth in a coordinated way.

We have found your excellent profile on YouthLead. We want to speak to youth like you to understand how you access services now and to hear your recommendations on how services could be easier to access or more coordinated in the future.

Are you interested in participating in a brief conversation about how you access education, health, employment and financial services in your community? Your participation in the conversation would be voluntary; however, it is an exciting opportunity to share your ideas. Please let me know if you are interested in participating or any questions you may have.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Honique
