Ugochukwu Uzuegbu has two years of experience in scientific research and public health administration. He earned a bachelor of science in Biochemistry from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Nigeria. Currently, he is Food Scientific Officer at Abia state Primary Healthcare Development Authority, where he focuses on educating rural communities on healthy nutrition, adult and adolescent reproductive health, and disease prevention. He also taught senior secondary school Chemistry, while serving the mandatory one year National Youth Service for university graduates in Nigeria. During this service year, he also volunteered as a peer educator, helping to improve the health of people in the rural community he was assigned. Through these experiences, he developed analytical, project management and implementation skills.
Ugochukwu Uzuegbu is committed to the development of an effective health system, prevention/eradication of diseases, research and availability of reliable data that will help in the development and structuring of health systems in Africa. He aspires to be one of the emerging leaders that will positively impact the African continent.
