Overview
Why do you want to join youthpower
How I want to make an Impact

My name is Shalva Tsintsadze and I am on the path of becoming a changemaker and proud to be nominated by the USAID Agriculture Program to take part in your Ambassadorship Program. The experience gained by me is as a result of hard work and keen interest in learning. The study at universities, informal and non-formal education through USAID/REAP strategic platform and participation in the work-based learning programs made me to realize - I can lead an innovative agri-enterprise myself. That is why in 2017 I urged my friend to launch one year-long activity aimed at planting, growing and harvesting tomato plants in the open-field. Currently, under the guidance of my lecturer, I study how to properly plant, grow and harvest potatoes. This experiment helped me to increase the competence in growing crops, and helped me to increase my professional self-worth. So, why I think I am a young changemaker? Because I do not know many people doing this kind of things. In Georgia there is a scarcity of qualified professional agronomists, and I hope to show other young people that one can become a successful agro-industry expert. Also, I had an opportunity to participate in USAID/REAP youth-focused activities: “Hazelnut Sector Future Leaders” (2015), Internship Program (2017-2018), REAP’s Strategic Platform Gender-Equitable Agricultural Development, and I shall state, I enjoy this kind of activities.
