How I want to make an Impact

Rural and small scale farming communities are the most hard hit by the climate crisis and environmental emergencies such as perennial droughts. Here communities are trapped in absolute poverty and underemployment as they begin to lose their jobs and source of livelihoods in the rain-fed agriculture sector of local economies. Many of the youths have resorted to cutting down trees and producing charcoal as a source of livelihood, which accelerates the situation even further. Climate change, biodiversity preservation and environmental emergencies are the defining issues of our time; as a young person living in the front-lines of affected communities, my voice as a climate victim and innovator changing the status quo is important to influence global climate action.

Short biography

I am the founder of an award winning social enterprise that is contributing towards lifting thousands of rural and small scale farming communities out of poverty and positively contributing to combating climate change. I am working with various organization to tackle climate change, environment emergencies and poverty at local, regional and global levels. I am part of the Young African Leaders Initiative and UN SDGs Goalkeepers, and I also served as their representative during the UNGA74. My project (Pamodz) is a livelihood improvement project that is offering positive social and economic impacts to rural and small scale farming communities by engaging them in producing honey and value added products for local and export markets. Our business model is built on our low cost beehives and bee venom harvesting devices that are ecofriendly designed to boost farmers productivity and fit the natural Miombo forest climate.
