The work that i am doing at a local, national, regional and International level impacting people's lives especially the youth makes me a change maker. At a local level, being part of the Youth in Accountability and Governance (YAG) initiative to allow young people to influence Governance in their communities, the initiative has seen youths in rural and urban communities being pro-active Citizens who have agency and are taking the lead in ensuring good governance and transparency in the way their local authorities are being run. Through the Defending Youth Agency initiative, i am also part of a team that seeks to ensure that the youth realize their freedom of association, assembly and expression which make up the key pillars of Civic Space. Under this initiative we seek to empower the youth with the necessary knowledge and skills in pushing for legislation that is of interest to the youth through Parliament processes and legislative advocacy with a shadow bill on the cards. At a national level, the Leave No Youth Behind model enables a positive impact on the lives of young people as through this initiative, we have come up with the Leave No Youth Behind Peace Pledge under which young people committed to upholding Peace and political tolerance before, during and after the 2018 Zimbabwe elections. Also attached to this campaign, this initiative realized an increase in the youth voters from 8% of 2013 to above 43% for 2019. This initiative has come a long way in integrating already existing ideas with new innovative ones in advocating for meaningful youth participation in electoral processes through their democratic right to vote. At the Continental level, the work that i do as a researcher and as the Zimbabwe Focal point in the Network of African Youths for Development (NAYD), continues to promote young people in the rural economy as the initiative seeks to upscale and support the work the rural youth are doing for their livelihoods thereby bringing Sustainable development to the rural communities. At an International level, i contribute my knowledge, experiences as well as skills in the Arab African Council for Integration and Development (AACID) as the Head of Media as the platform seeks to ensure tolerance and to promote Sustainable Development by youths from the two regions. Joining the Youth Lead initiative will create an opportunity to meet other like-minded young people from across the World to share experiences and best practices with regards making positive change in the World. Being part of the National Association of Youth Organizations (NAYO), an umbrella body of youth Organizations in Zimbabwe, by joining, i will also volunteer all gained skills and knowledge to the Networks that i am part of and also to volunteer these skills and knowledge to ensure the majority of the youth do benefit from my Ambassadorship at Youth Lead which includes our Youth Member organizations from Zimbabwe's ten provinces.
