I am a young change maker residing in Akwanga Nasarawa state of Nigeria,I currently rear Rabbit of highbred and I am also a distributor.
I have engaged about 18 youths in my community with the same business
I started with an idea on how to affect my community positively and what can I do to contribution to the economy growth of my local community and the country and there by engaging the young people on entrepreneurship.
At that time, many youths in my community are idle doing nothing, I organized a small local workshop. And as a youth Chairman in my local Church, I have the opportunity to meet with my Church youth almost every Sunday when need be.
In that meeting, I always encouraged the youth to be self employed by laying their hands on something that will help them and also help the community. I advised them not to wait on the government rather, they should think of something doing that will help their life.l then think of a business.because most of the challenges they are facing is the capital to start the business. I then say if that is their problem, I will start the rearing of Rabbit and give to them to also start their for free.because, as of the time I started, I put a prize of 1500 for one Rabbit but yet they keep complaining of not having money, and after one to two years, I have up to 50 Rabbit and decided to be given them for free for those that have the interest.
At the moment, I am heading over 40 youth in my community and if given the opportunity, I will impact a lot in to them by using my influence as the chairman of the youth to organise more workshops in order to engage them to be active changemaker in the community and using my influence as the chairman of the youth in my community, I will introduce a platform for awareness thereby recruiting them into youthlead.
