This is the slide presentation used during the PYD Symposium session about Youth Leading COVID Responses on the Education Track.

One of the most immediate and significant impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic was the disruption to education for young people of  all ages, with over a billion students worldwide unable to go to school or university, due to measures to stop the spread of the virus.  Nearly two years on, these challenges continue, with a significant shift to online learning for many young people, and a growing  digital divide that has left other young people behind. This breakout session explored the topic of COVID-19 and its impact on  education.

Moderator Janet Kwakye, founder of zoetexx Global (Ghana) joined speaker AlbinaTortbayeva, HEET Youth Advisor, to  explore how young people have been impacted and some of the ways they are responding to these challenges.

Facilitator: Janet Kwakye, YLA (Ghana)
Presenter: Albina Tortbayeva, HEET Youth Advisor, YP2LE Learning Network (Kazakhstan)
