My name is Anthony Acquah, a member of UCC YouthMappers Chapter. I have been with this chapter for about two years now. What we do is very simple, we digitize what is on earth and put them on an open platform to enable individual and organizations use them for various purposes such as relief purposes, research and other individual uses.
Now, let me tell you what volunteering is… It is the act of doing something, which others will not be willing to do and also doing that thing because you want to do it and not because you have been told to. This ‘act’ of selflessness is what got me the opportunity to meet YOUTHLEAD.
Youthlead from my perspective is a group of vibrant individuals with a common goal of changing their current state of living to affect the global village in a positive way. It is through this that I got the opportunity to partake in this year’s African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF2019), which was organized in Accra, Ghana with the theme: leveraging digital transformation to drive sustainable food systems in Africa.
In attendance were people from all walk of life such as presidents, ministers of state, ambassadors, entrepreneurs, investors and individual businesses who came together to share ideas and learn from one another, the ways digitalization of African agriculture and help improve the continent and also the global market.
AGRF2019 took place from the 3rd to the 6th of September this year. The programme was well organized with sessions taking place at any point in time. Let’s have a brief overview of the entire program.
