Right now, the largest generation of young people in history is in or approaching their reproductive years. Youth need information about their bodies and rights, as well as tools and support to make the decisions best for themselves and their circumstances.
The Youth Investment, Engagement, and Leadership Development (YIELD) Project report, finds that making this happen will require young people’s participation and leadership at every level in youth sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) initiatives—from ideation to implementation.
Youth Voluntary Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care must transform from a field for young people to one with young people.
Young people want and deserve information about their health and rights, as well as tools and support to make the decisions best for themselves and their circumstances. Making this happen requires young people’s participation and leadership at every level of adolescent and youth Voluntary Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care and rights (SRHR) programming—from ideation to implementation.
We believe a shift to full youth participation in Voluntary Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care efforts is key to accelerating progress toward the outcomes we all want—including many of the Sustainable Development Goals.
