Africa has a highly patriarchal history, and a lot of women still struggle to successfully participate in politics. There has been gestures across the continent reflecting on the need for more female voices in governance processes, and countries like Zimbabwe have had "Quota systems" which are generally reserved seats that only women can compete for. These have seen an increase in the the number of women taking up legislative office, but in this article, I questioned the role of women in politics- if at all the space is open to their full potential or they just exist to advance the agenda of a man.I have attached a link to the All Africa News Platform where it was re-posted, I hope it is worth your while.
