One year into the Covid-19 pandemic, young people continue to be adversely impacted by the pandemic in different spheres of their lives. Over the last 8 months, young people in six countries designed and led the implementation of the Youth-led Digital Engagement (YDE) project, supported by ActionAid.
The focus of the platform was to enable young people to use citizen-generated data in advocating for their rights from duty bearers through data collection, aggregation, analysis and dissemination of information within the shortest time possible. Through the project young people were able to access data and evidence from their communities that informs timely and relevant action primarily using using digital spaces and information and communications technologies (ICT). With the evidence generated, and following all tenets of conduct of research, the young people were enabled to undertake social accountability and demand action from the state and its institutions.
Join us and get the opportunity to listen and learn from young people involved in the project from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Palestine and Zambia. This is a chance to draw lessons on empowering young people to lead processes in evidence generation and subsequent evidence based policy advocacy.
