Armed conflict is a reality for millions of children today, and children continue to be used in combat. Target 8.7 explicitly states that the recruitment and use of child soldiers should be prohibited and eliminated by 2025. With only four years left to reach our target, and with this year being the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour, it is time to reinvigorate action.

Alliance 8.7 and our Partner War Child co-organised this webinar to answer the following questions:

· When, where and how does the recruitment of child soldiers happen?
· What works, both at a policy level and on the ground, to end and prevent the recruitment and use of child soldiers?
· How can former child soldiers be successfully reintegrated?
· Where can you access useful tools and resources?

The webinar took place on Thursday 6 May, 15:00-16:30 CEST. Alliance 8.7 and War Child also moderated an online discussion from Monday 3 May to Friday 7 May on the same topic.
