In 2015, the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2250 on youth, peace, and security (YPS), which recognizes the contributions of young people to peacebuilding efforts and broadens the call for the inclusion of youth in planning, program design, policy development, and decision-making processes for conflict prevention, resolution, and recovery. Yet, often initiatives targeting youth tend to favor young men, while young women remain seen mainly as passive victims and are left out. This is an article that is highlighting the gaps in the representation of women in peace and security. They outline the dangers of this and emphasizes the importance of accurate representation of women.
