Modelo de atención integral y diferenciada para las y los adolescentes

La salud integral del/la adolescente tiene su razón de ser en la medicina preventiva; la mayoría de problemas biopsicosociales del adulto son de inicio en la niñez y adolescencia, los cuales si se abordan de manera temprana y oportuna se verán disminuidos o eliminados. Sin embargo, este es un tema como muchos otros en salud integral que no se aborda porque se ha considerado a la familia como la única responsable y no la sociedad en su conjunto.

El Ministerio de Salud Pública para generar acciones de abordaje integral a favor de la atención diferenciada de los y las adolescentes integró un equipo técnico multidisciplinario para la elaboración del Modelo de Atención Integral a los y las Adolescentes, el cual está dirigido a los proveedores de la red de servicios de salud fortaleciendo la organización juvenil, participación comunitaria y coordinación multisectorial.
