UNICEF compiled a report on Mis/Disinformation and Youth. The report covers the urgent issue of false information, its impact on children, how children are targets of false information, approaches to solving this issue, and more.

This report serves as a general introduction into the relationship between children and false information.

This report identifies 7 types of mis/disinformation:

  1. False connection
  2. Fake context
  3. Satire or parody
  4. Misleading content
  5. Fabricated content
  6. Imposter content
  7. Manipulated content

The report emphasizes how children are active users of the Internet, and therefore vulnerable to false information. At the same time, they can also be drivers for change in the fight against false information.
