This kit contains the best resources on the YouthLead website related to caring for your mental health. They are a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn more about what affects our mental health day to day, how to implement good practices into organizations and how to navigate the particularly trying and uncertain times we are currently experiencing. As mental health impacts us all, these resources are useful for anybody of any age. This kit is broken up into five webinars with some of our YouthLead members, general mental health resources/data, mental health and gender/disability, institutional research and strategy and fact sheets/infographics to be easily shared.

  • Implementing Integrated Mental Health Youth Programs - Watch the YouthLead Ambassadors share their passions, experiences, and lessons learned as young changemakers about Mental Health.
  • Applying a Mental Health Lens to Youth-Focused Programming - Watch this YouthLead Skill Building Webinar with speakers from the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) and More to Life International to learn how these issues can be addressed.

  • Maintaining Your Mental Health and Well-being as a Young Changemaker - This page offers young changemakers  facts and solutions  for improving mental health.
  • WHO Suicide Data - This data page provided by the WHO describes how suicide affects our communities around the world. 
  • How to Deal with Anxiety - Experiencing some anxiety when facing difficult decisions or life changes is normal, but when that anxiety interferes with daily life it becomes a disorder.
  • Mental Health in the Workplace- This booklet discusses the economic cost of mental ill health, demystifies mental illness, stress and stress management in the workplace, alcohol and substance use and the workplace and creating a psychologically healthy workplace.

Mental Health and Gender, Disability

  • Gendered Impacts of Bullying on Mental Health Among Adolescents in Low-and Middle-Income Countries: Recommendations for Programming and Research - Poor mental health was assessed using questions across six countries that focused on feeling lonely, worry that affected sleep, and suicide plans within the past 12 months. 
  • Change of LGBTI+ Needs and Mental Health – What Needs To Be Done? - This article from the Speak Act Change organization proposes solutions for addressing mental health needs within the LGBTI+ community.

Institutional Research/Campaigns

  • Changing the Rules: A Guide for Youth and Young Adults with Mental Health Conditions Who Want to Change Policy -This policy guide is useful for anyone and any organization that wants to learn about how to change mental health policies.
  • WHO Mental Health Action Plan 2013 - 2030 - This plan sets out clear actions for Member States, the WHO Secretariat and international, regional and national partners to promote mental health and well-being for all, to prevent mental health conditions for those at-risk and to achieve universal coverage for mental health services. It's available in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish.
  • Leading Minds Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health - Learn what issues were discussed during 2019’s Leading Minds Conference on child and adolescent mental health with this blog post.
  • Suicide Prevention - This resource page provided by the WHO has toolkits, videos, and a fact sheet to aid suicide prevention.

  • Mental Health Fact Sheet - This page provides a mental health fact sheet for anyone interested in understanding more about mental health. The fact sheet is easily downloadable and sharable.
