With the onset of covid-19, schools around the world have shifted to online education. However, children in government (public) schools in India have little to no access to education because their schools aren't equipped with the infrastructure required to take virtual classes. In order to make education more accessible to children from underserved communities in Karnataka, Project Sitara Foundation has started a YouTube series - Mathematics in Kannada (a regional language spoken in the state Karnataka in India). This series contains all chapters taught in the local language, includes exercise solutions and has a mechanism in place for children to reach out to educators in case of any doubts. Features: 1) Peer to peer learning 2) Self-paced 3) Personalised learning 4) Feedback loop in place 5) Free to access Additionally, Sitara is also distributing pen drives for free, with all chapters uploaded to it. This is for schools / children who do not have access to stable internet to watch the YouTube videos. This is a small step towards making education more inclusive and accessible in the state.
