What started as a dream between friends, became a reality.
Nertila, Hira, and Medina from Prizren, the cultural capital of Kosovo, had a creative dream: bring illusion and transparency to clothing. In March 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading across the world, the 3 friends got the courage to apply for a grant called the StartUP grant which is supported by UNICEF Kosovo, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), and allocated to youth groups through the partner Innovation Centre Kosovo (ICK).
For these young women, the project was about empowering girls and women through unique styles. "They believe that pastel-coloured, nature-inspired and transparent materials are an expression of courage to try something different."
in Kosovo, women mainly work in the sectors of education, trade, and health care. Women in entrepreneur roles are something new in Kosovo, but it does not scare these young friends, but only motivates them more.
Additionally, Nertila, Hira, and Medina, said that the support they got from their mentors was essential. "They are committed to every last detail and provide us with information and support for doing business,” said Nertila."
