This toolkit aims to help youth workers inform young people about the climate emergency, and empower them to take positive action.
Although the toolkit is targeted at youth workers who have completed the Climate Emergency Training for Youth Workers course, it should prove useful to many youth work settings.
The Toolkit includes activities to help young people learn about, and discuss the impact of our choices on climate change, environment and people. The activities also introduce opportunities to find out more and take positive action to tackle climate change.
Learning takes place through facilitated discussion, interactive exercises, games and films, with every session having in-person and online delivery options. The activities meet a variety of youth work outcomes and are flagged with suggested age ranges, resources and timings.
Activities are organised into five sections, with the first section covering climate change, and four further sections focussed around the themes of food, travel, energy and waste. Further resources will be added, but if there is a resource or activity you would find useful in your youth work area, please do get in touch.
The toolkit has been designed by Keep Scotland Beautiful and YouthLink Scotland and is part of the Youth Leader Climate Project funded by the Scottish Government.
