Background and Purpose
Through the USAID-funded Governance Integration for Stabilization and Resilience in the Middle East and North Africa (GISR MENA) Task Order, USAID is seeking climate change and environmental solutions from youth-led or youth-serving organizations across the MENA region. For the purposes of this competition, youth are defined as those between the ages of 10-35 years of age. Organizations are invited to submit applications for a regional grant competition where up to eight organizations will be selected and receive up to $62,000 to implement their proposed climate initiatives. Selected grantees will also receive guidance and mentorship from climate experts throughout implementation, as well as organizational and advocacy capacity strengthening support.
Eligibility
Organizations interested in applying must be locally registered in one of the following countries: Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, West Bank/Gaza or Yemen. Interested applicants from Yemen should note that only activities implemented in the Republic of Yemen Government (ROYG)-controlled areas of southern Yemen will be considered for funding. Organizations must be youth-led (leadership is under 35 years) or youth-serving (implement initiatives that support and benefit youth). Organizations led by or serving youth from marginalized groups, which may include age, gender, disability, ethnicity, and other identities, are encouraged to apply. - Complete and submit Annex 1 Concept Note Template, as well as the organization’s registration certificate by August 19, 2022 by 23:59 Eastern Time. All applications must be submitted in English.
Grantee Selection and Award
Organizations will be shortlisted and notified within approximately one to two weeks after the RFA closing date. Shortlisted organizations will then participate in a co-creation process with USAID’s implementing partner, Management Systems International (MSI), and climate experts to further design their proposed climate initiative and complete a full grantee application. Shortlisted applications will then be reviewed by a technical evaluation committee. Organizations selected for final award will be notified within one to two weeks of application submission.

من خلال أمر مهمة "تكامل الحوكمة لتحقيق الاستقرار والمرونة في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا" (GISR MENA) الذي تموله الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية USAID، تسعى الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية إلى إيجاد حلول لتغير المناخ والحلول البيئية من المنظمات التي يقودها الشباب أو التي تخدم الشباب في جميع أنحاء منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. لأغراض هذه المسابقة، يتم تعريف الشباب على أنهم الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 10 و35 عامًا. المنظمات مدعوة لتقديم طلبات لمسابقة المنح الإقليمية حيث سيتم اختيار ما يصل إلى ثماني منظمات وستحصل كل منظمة على ما يصل إلى 62,000 دولار لتنفيذ مبادراتها المناخية المقترحة. سيتلقى متلقو المنح المختارون أيضًا التوجيه والإرشاد من خبراء المناخ طوال التنفيذ، بالإضافة إلى دعم تعزيز القدرات التنظيمية والدعوية.
الأهلية:
يجب أن تكون المنظمات المهتمة بالتقدم مسجلة محليًا في أحد البلدان التالية: مصر أو العراق أو لبنان أو ليبيا أو المغرب أو الأردن أو تونس أو الضفة الغربية / غزة أو اليمن؛ يجب على المتقدمين المهتمين ملاحظة أنه سيتم النظر فقط في الأنشطة المنفذة في المناطق التي تسيطر عليها حكومة الجمهورية اليمنية في جنوب اليمن للحصول على تمويل بموجب طلب تقديم الطلبات هذا.. يجب أن تكون المنظمات بقيادة الشباب (القيادة بعمر أقل من 35 عامًا) أو تخدم الشباب (تنفيذ المبادرات التي تدعم الشباب وتفيدهم). يتم تشجيع المنظمات التي يقودها أو تخدم شبابًا من الفئات المهمشة، والتي قد تشمل العمر والجنس والإعاقة والعرق والهويات الأخرى، على التقديم. تم تضمين معلومات إضافية حول الأهلية والمنافسة في طلب تقديم الطلبات.

- إكمال وإرسال الملحق الأول (Annex I)، بالإضافة إلى شهادة تسجيل المنظمة بحلول 19 أغسطس 2022 الساعة 23:59 بتوقيت شرق الولايات المتحدة. يجب تقديم جميع الطلبات باللغة الإنجليزية.
اختيار الحاصل على المنحة وطريقة منحها
سيتم إدراج المنظمات في قائمة المرشحين الأوليين وإخطارها بحلول أسبوع أو أسبوعين تقريباً بعد إغلاق استقبال الطلبات. ستشارك المنظمات المختارة بعد ذلك في عملية إنشاء مشتركة مع الشريك المنفذ للوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية Management Systems International (MSI)، وخبراء المناخ لمواصلة تصميم مبادرتهم المناخية المقترحة وإكمال طلب متكامل للمنح. سيتم بعد ذلك مراجعة الطلبات المدرجة على قائمة المرشحين الأوليين من قبل لجنة التقييم الفني. سيتم إخطار المنظمات التي تم اختيارها للحصول على المنحة النهائية بحلول أسبوع أو أسبوعين تقريباً بعد استقبال الطلب.
