The C20 or Civil 20 is one of the official Engagement Groups (EGs) of the G20. It provides a space for the political dialogue between the G20 governments and the international civil society. While other EGs are often appointed by the governments, creating a sort of official platforms, the C20 is totally independent. It's an alliance gathering in 2021 around 600 civil society organisations and international networks from all over the world. The C20 follows the G20 agenda in order to provide its recommendations but also address the G20 with specific priorities. In particular the international civil society calls on the G20 to respect the human rights, too often violated all over the world and even within the G20 members, and to strengthen the UN multilateral framework, the only authentic space for multilateralism, accessible by every country of the world. This report provides a record of the most relevant activities and information on the Civil 20 in 2021 and shares some lessons learned in order to support and strengthen the C20 process in the following years.
