TITLE -MY RIGHTS
In the marginalized county of Garissa, one organization by the name of Kesho Alliance is changing stereotypes by empowering its youth through community development on their rights. This is a county known for youth radicalization and home to the terrorist group, Al shabab as it is in close links with Somalia. Police in the area are know to harass the youth in the name of curfew and operations, extorting them thousands of shillings for their freedom.
TKA organized a community workshop and touched base on 5 topics that the youth got training on namely:
1. Entrepreneurship
2. Skills and Knowledge
3. leadership and governance
4. community development
5. Peace and cohesion.
For the two weeks the training took part, challenges, suggestions and conclusions were drawn and later presented to the Garissa Governor H.E Ali Korane .
