TITLE -Environmental education for Young people through comic books
In Cameroon, environmental education is almost non-existent. Many schools barely have enough resources to teach basic subjects such as math and writing. As a result, there is a significant lack of knowledge on topics like climate change, pollution, and recycling. Through my advanced schooling, i learned about the problems that were facing my community, and realized that the problems would not fix themselves. Someone needed to step up and educate young people
I began traveling to different schools to teaching students about environmental issues facing their communities and what they can do to fix them. One other way i have been getting students more involved is by handing out Greening Forward Earth Saver Club Comics. .These comics tell a story about a group of young students who see a huge littering problem at their school, and decide to take action on it. The comic is a very fun introduction to youth-based action, and many of the students at these schools had never seen a comic of this type before. After first connecting with the students, i help them create Earth Saver Clubs, And i have given them examples of how passionate people have addressed those issues
.I have worked with over 500 students across 6 schools in Buea Cameroon.
