The photo depicts a young person in a wheelchair protesting for the inclusion of young people in Nigeria's political space under the Not Too Young To Run movement.
The Not Too Young To Run is a story of young people, power and democratic renewal. The Not Too Young To Run as a campaign and as a movement began in May 2016 with the sponsorship of an age reduction bill in the National Assembly. The bill aimed to remove the constitutional age requirement for running for elective office in Nigeria. On the 31st of May 2018, history was made as President Muhammadu Buhari assented to the Not Too Young To Run bill and passed it into law after it was passed by the National and state Assemblies. For two years, young people organised and built strategic capacity to push for age reduction. Leverage on the power of young people, their demand was specific - open the political space for young people.
