With many of us still meeting virtually, is it possible for mentoring to have a profound impact online? In the latest episode of The PYD Lab, Youth Development Specialist Sarah Sladen and Youth Empowerment Advocate and Mentor Philbert Aganyo share their insights on how mentorship can thrive in a variety of settings.

On Season 2’s kick-off episode, Sladen had this to say about building mentoring relationships online, “We also recognize that when we limit engagement to an online platform, you're cutting out a lot of people. The digital divide, which was already in place, is getting worse. [But], we’re also recognizing that technology can still be a really critical tool to keep us connected and, in some ways, has opened up participatory options for young people more than we were able to do when we were meeting in person.”

The episode also dives into the needs of young changemakers today and how the new YouthLead Mentorship Initiative will help young people find and connect with mentors to ultimately increase their economic opportunities and personal and professional growth.

Plus, do not miss the latest positive youth development resource recommendations for implementers and practitioners.
