YouthChangemakersKE is program on the Kenya Red Cross Facebook page that seeks to reach out to its approximately 40,000 followers, through live broadcasts to enable young people to have solution-oriented conversations on issues that include but not limited to social security, a fair and free world, right to education, right to democracy and equality. Through the impact of this engagement like-minded organisations such as United Nations Conference on Trade and development ( Youth Action Hub Kenya), United Nations Sustainable development solutions Networks ( UN-SDSN Great Lakes ) ,and Vijana Tupo initiative have come on board to progress these efforts to widen the outreach to a diverse youth population in urban, pre-urban and rural Kenya. The objective of this initiative is to accelerate mind set and behavioural action by young people on issues of social impact. The initiative recognises the undeniable role that young people play. Therefore, it is crucial to incorporate this demographic because they have a role to play for real transformation to occur. The program brings on board Young global leaders to encourage fellow youth to own their power and voices in regards to social impact advocacy and to advise them on how they can leverage on existing frameworks to create value for themselves and their communities.
