I collaborated with KONVERGE Media to set up a digital skill empowerment training program that aim to increase the participation of youth across Katsina State communities to startup digital businesses, to reduce the total number of unemployed youths to about 80%. I created a digital media publicity campaign that recruited 1,000 youths mostly graduate of tertiary institutions across Katsina State. I empowered them with a 4 weeks training in digital marketing and business development. I then connected them with Federal Government intervention programs through a curated online hub, in order to equip them with the needed knowledge that will make them access seed funding and soft loans support to help them start, manage, grow and scale there digital business into profitability.
So far, over 200 new employment opportunities were created by all of these entrepreneurs, which created massive impact and improvement to the Katsina State socioeconomic livelihood. I later developed a free digital learning management system that will help youths in Katsina State and Nigeria gain access to digital and employability skills at their own comfort. I am running this initiative in order to contribute to economic development, while creating opportunities for decent jobs for unemployed youths in Katsina State
