Promotes civic participation and a volunteer culture through the placement of the Masters graduates in volunteer positions with relevant organizations. USAID funded graduates who completed a Master’s-level program are required to volunteer for a minimum of 400 hours, completed within two years of the graduate’s return to Kosovo. The volunteer work can be with public or private organizations, teaching at local educational institutions, or other forms of service with Kosovo organizations that contribute to the development of Kosovo society. For those graduates that return and work in the Kosovo public sector, the volunteer requirement is optional. To support USAID’s goal of developing a cadre of connected transformational leaders, Citizens Corps established and supports the alumni association. An association will benefit alumni in numerous ways, including networking opportunities, sharing information on continuing educational opportunities, encouraging volunteerism activities, and fostering a strong bond between Kosovo and the US.
