This initiative was born at a two weeks camp in Ghana hosting four different countries, and eighty seven marginalized youth together . Ung aktion from Denmark saw the need to help my organization set up a street library based on my ideas and piloting around the cluster of schools in the chogu community. This library since the inception has accommodated over one thousand students from all walks of life,it’s open to anyone ready to learn. We do have fun activities during the weekend like dancing, role playing and drama, drawing and paintings. It has been an incredible experience and never ending joy interacting with new faces throughout the week. And the readiness of the children to learn and always acquire knowledge by challenging themselves is an energy booster,. I am very grateful my idea was materialized and it can only get better.

WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT YOUR PROJECT WORKS?
My evidence is the feedbacks I get from parents, I must say I didn’t expect this much love, I just wanted to help the children assess quality education. Parents visiting the library and showing gratitude and gratification shows our volunteering works isn’t going to waste. Individuals who have been impressed about the street library donates books, sweets, and cash to support and motivate the children more to inculcate the reading culture.https://www.ghana360news.com/brekete-reads-foundation-donates-to-sedarvp-ghana/
DO YOU HAVE CURRENT USERS OR TESTERS?
Yes,we still have both children and adults using the library. It is always open to everyone, once you’re ready and committed to learn.
