The project took place in 2 rural communities in Lagos state, namely Ebute-Ilaje and Agege. I and my team educated 200 girls and young women in these communities on the prevention of COVID-19 and pregnancy. We also distributed relief items that comprised of raw food items, hand sanitizers, sanitary pads, and locally made face masks. The aim of the project was to mitigate some of the challenges girls and women faced during the lockdown imposed by the government in the early time of the pandemic. Young people during the lockdown had to stay home and for those in rural communities, they struggled with food, and even materials they needed to prevent contracting the coronavirus. Hence, we developed this project to provide aid during these times.

WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT YOUR PROJECT WORKS?
From the feedback we got from the community, it was evident that the project was timely and responsive to the current realities which is the COVID-19 pandemic. The beneficiaries of the project expressed their thanks and requested for similar projects to be implemented subsequently.
DO YOU HAVE CURRENT USERS OR TESTERS?
Currently, we are not implementing the project because the lockdown has been relaxed and economic activities are beginning to pick up. Also, there is a gradual return back to school for students in the senior secondary school classes.
