Ogoni Stories project mirrors the popular “Humans of New York” which tells stories of the diverse people of New York. We want to show the Ogoni People to the world, learn about them and capture their stories in the most memorable way. The social aspect of the clean-up is a focus for us on this project. Via a photo-documentary, we are looking to experience what it feels like to be an indigene of Ogoni, how they have lived with pollution and how the news of the Clean Up is bringing hope to their oil clouded minds.
Starting with one community in Ogoni Land - Bodo (where the Cleanup was flagged off), Ogoni Stories would reach out to people and with their consent share their stories with the world. We shall create social Media handles for this project; the collated stories and photographs will be processed and distributed on major social media channels, mainstream blogs both locally and internationlly
