In August 2018, I led the Katsina State, "Not Too Young To Run" campaign team, on a consultation visit to offices of the two major political parties in the state - both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to advocate for youth inclusion, in order, to allow them hold positions within the two parties and in government, as well as advocating for the reduction in nominations fees and ensuring transparent and democratic party primaries.
Collaborating with young aspirants from the APC, PDP and other parties. I led important topical discussions with key decision makers in those parties, and advocated for the implementation of law that was signed by the President of Nigeria. This created better clarity that led to the registration of many youths as active member of a political party, and this inspired them to contest for administrative position within their parties, while the most competent youth run and were supported to win primary election.
Till this time, the rights to political participation in Katsina State had been constitutionally guaranteed and believe that increased representation of young men and women and persons with disability in political office will enhance the quality of democracy and governance.
