Since early 2016, Javan Jazba Foundation (JJF) is playing an instrumental role in promoting youth development in the rural district of Chakwal, in the province of Punjab. JJF is a youth-led and youth-focused community based organization dedicated to creating a fairer and empowered society. Javan Jazba which literally mean "Passion of the Youth" has five major programs under which we are doing different projects with the help of our donors, partners, and trained volunteers. JJF programs include:
- Youth Social Entrepreneurship Initiatives
- Sports for Youth Development
- Women Empowerment Cooperative
- Youth against Drug Abuse, and
- Youth United for Environmental Conservation
Originally set out to combat growing epidemic of drug abuse among young population in our native rural area, JJF has now received widespread recognition and praise from local community for its remarkable contributions towards promoting youth development through youth entrepreneurship ventures, and recreational activities, as well as creating livelihood opportunities for women by skill development initiatives. In less than 2 years, with the help and efforts of dedicated volunteers JJF raised around $25K to launch a number of different projects, Special attention is given to long-term sustainability and ownership of these projects. For instance, we established a restaurant which provides cooking classes as well as cheap and hygienic food to young volunteers and needy people. This restaurant earns profit, however, profit is not the end goal rather social welfare. Likewise, we built a swimming pool and a sports ground, in addition to a skills center for young women and girls. JJF is also very active in raising public awareness about environmental challenges in our native area.
