Haitian Startups Bootcamp (HSB) is an intense 3-Day entrepreneurship training to promote the development of innovative business ideas among young innovators and entrepreneurs that will take place on 27-29 February in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The event is supported by YLAI, U.S. Department of State, 3 Day Startup, U.S. Embassy Kingston and organized by 500Gourdes, Inc. online marketplaces based in Haiti that assist young entrepreneurs to develop their businesses online. HSB focuses on solving domain-specific and local challenges including Product Design, Marketing, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Growth Hacking. They will learn more specific topics like entrepreneurial mindset development, ideation, business model canvas, prototyping, and pitch development, how to build a scalable and investable business, validate the value proposition, how to develop their network locally but internationally creating a long-lasting partnership or identifying co-founder to build their team inside the ecosystem. The Bootcamp will provide immense value to more than 40 entrepreneurs that will receive the training in business plan development and coaching from mentors and speakers; they also will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas or business to panels of judges. The Bootcamp will be practical since we will work on simulated problems, challenges, dive into case studies, presentations, which can help us tackle real and local challenges during the 3 days. In order to make more people benefit from the Bootcamp and create more impact with the event, right after the event, we are launching an online platform (*see prototype) to not only unite the ecosystem but also to keep them informed by educating and guiding them on making their dream to create build successful business, a reality.
