Process Reporting System for real time energy optimisation and process control is achieved with this project. The device picks process parameter and sends to a database for it to be used for calculating energy usage and cost analysis.
METHODOLOGY
The methodology behind the design of the smart energy management system involves several stages. The first stage is data collection, second is reporting while the third is engagement action by field operator.
The process reporting system comprise different equipment which shall transfer necessary information to a central system connected to an internet facility. This first system is that for information sending and receiving. The information sending system is basically composed of sensors that will receive the inputs of the process parameter from real time present conditions depending on where the device is placed. Process parameters shall be uploaded to a database for it to be seen in graphical format and for forecasting purposes. For real time implementation, the operator shall be a man who would have been trained on how to operate the system while the device shall be placed on; gas tanks, reservoiurs, fluid lines etc. The operator should be able to get information about the pressure and flow of the fluid at every instant of time. Information on plant energy usage, status of plant as whether it is current performing work or not, if the plant has been shut down or is in current operation, cost of production while running a plant etc should be seen in the computers in the control room. With these conditions, the operator can achieve close monitoring operation and those in the control room can now be calculate for cost involvements in operations.
