Rural communities in Pemba island faced with huge challenges item of accessing decent toilets as many people have low income towards decent toilets. Therefore this project increases community awareness and finding supports from external donors and governments. This project also intends to be implemented with a native local organization based in Pemba island called Pemba Environment and sanitation Organization with strong collaboration with international Organizations like Sanitation and water for all(SWA). Likewise, the project intends to benefit three villages such as Uchozini, Kiuyu, and Chwale all villages founds on Pemba island. this village has been closed since there is a high risk of practicing open defecations as the many villagers have not access toilets.

WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT YOUR PROJECT WORKS?
The project has a number of volunteers from three communities where the project will take place so as to work in collaboration with project officers during providing education on the importance of decent toilets. Also, the project will receive supports from the government of Zanzibar through the Municipal council so as to assist the implementation of the project so that the project will reach its target.
