Helped increase exports of value chain produce. Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) remain the strongest export oriented sub-sector, and is generating new jobs for women and youth, and contributing to improvements in income generation in rural areas. Youth comprised 43% (1,642) of program participants in 2016 agriculture training—a dramatic increase from the numbers in 2015 (184). This is encouraging because the presence of AGRO in the industry will spark further youth participation in agriculture.
