Come and be a part of the change makers! The Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Youth Conference will be hosted as one of the flagship events as the sideline of the AIS Forum's 1st High-Level Meeting. (Fully funded travel covered by AIS Forum secretariat).
Theme: “Bridging the Waves for the Ocean Future We Want”
Date: 6th - 8th October 2023.
Location: Bali, Indonesia.
As the ultimate goal, this AIS Youth Conference is committed to producing the AIS Youth Declaration as one of its primary deliverables, which will be the AIS Forum's defining youth-led and youth-centered document.
Eligibility
- Applicant must come from an AIS Country
- Aged 20 – 30 years old by October 2023.
- Proficient in English as it is the conference’s working language.
- Open for full-time students (Undergraduate/ Master) or young professionals.
- Able to undertake international travel to Bali, Indonesia (Fully funded travel covered by AIS Forum secretariat).
- Able to commit to pre-event, main conference, and post-event activities.
- Follower of AIS Forum Instagram Page (@aisforum)
Applicants who fulfill the following will be a plus:
- Prior experience in volunteering/ work/ project in one or more AIS Forum thematic areas (Blue economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, marine pollution, and ocean governance).
- Have engaged in AIS Forum-related events before.
- Prior publication/ research experience related to ocean, climate change & ocean nexus, and marine sustainability issues.
- Actively working with stakeholders on ocean and maritime issues.
