May be the internal thunder that we feel when nothing goes the way we imagine our life to be, the turning point arrives. When we start placing humanity first and our hungry self, the greedy demons aside, the turning point arrives. Wandering around being enveloped with illusions and depressions thinking about how hard our life is and we see a little creature suffering to be just alive, the turning point arrives. No any external force, the mere five minutes motivations or long speeches can shake the soul, until the inner voice calls, and the turning point arrives. It is completely different.
To be honest walking by the side of the road complaining about how miserable my life was, why life is testing my patience like every growing teenagers feels, a moment tore my soul apart.A homeless child, who could only reckon on the mother earth, was lying silently beside the tree shivering in the chilling cold. Seeing the child, I realized I was offered with privileges, a beautiful home that the child was praying for hours, trying to collect the scattered pieces of only hopes left behind. The moment made me realize when there’s no one to offer a hand, the mother earth transforms herself into a home like the tree cared for the child. The very moment became the changing point of my life and helped me resonate with the beautiful calling of the nature. I don’t have the courage to explain how i felt the very moment but I was all determined, energized with a passion and a complete new person. Offering foods to energize his energy less body, clothes to warm his shivering soul and shelter to his orphanage life, one thing hit me hard. The nature’s love, affection, and overflowing motherly warmth is the greatest blessings the humans are granted with.
Each individual perceiving the world in their own uniqueness, holds onto their own believes and paths to make an infectious positive change. Being a student of agriculture science, I have always been keen to learn about ways to enrich nature with sustainability and community with deep humanity. Understanding the emerging emergencies of climate changes and natures call for immediate action is undeniable to bring the positive impact. I have volunteered in data collection regarding the perception of people towards climate changes and their actions to mitigate them. I participated in a COP in my city, workshop organized by Climate Nepal. Later as a member of Climate Nepal, I worked in campaigns to bring awareness about climate change and importance of sustainability. As we know charity begins from home, we started with waste management at community level by separating degradable and non- degradable wastes. With the increasing awareness of consumers towards health, food safety and long lasting negative consequences of pesticides, people are shifting more towards organic food. I am currently doing a research to assess the willingness of consumers to pay for organic foods in various context of Nepal. Research highlights the factors influencing the consumer’s willingness to pay for organic foods as well as SWOT analysis of organic farming in Nepal. Economic growth and environmental sustainability is two different dimensions, but when they are led together, they bring two different worlds and richness. I participated in a Participatory appraisal of Competitive Advantage (PACA) exercise in Siddharthanagar , Nepal organized in co-operation with German Development Co-operation for 12 days. Local and Provincial Economic Development Project was a great platform to shape the economic situation where we discussed about the major sectors contributing economic growth of our community. Tourism, trade, manufacturing and organic agriculture were identified as a promising sectors and we handed over the proposal to municipality to transform the result of workshop into working plan.
Blinded by the trend of the materialistic stardom, people at present are indifferent to the problems faced by the under-developed communities. Even in today's' modern era, there are rural communities deprived of basic needs. I volunteered in a 'Medical center Building Campaign' inaugurated by Jay Nepal organization, in Sindhupalchowk. As a volunteer, we were assigned roles to create mass awareness regarding the necessity of putting our health in the main priority followed by preparing questionnaire for the health survey. The stay made me realize that the real struggles of life far beyond our imaginary stressful life of not having a luxurious lifestyle. The pure innocence reflected in the eyes of the children and serene beauty of the village made me clear about the life essence; the simple way of living.
Human being, to be really human, has to be more and more humane, touching the heights of responsibility and humanity. A promise to respect and enhance nature so much that even those who try to degrade it gets attracted by the energy a nature lover radiates,
