I'm, Jose Bras Luemba da Costa, son of martyred lands of Cabinda, territory administered colonially by Angola since his independence from Portugal in 1975. As a result of the desastrous decolonization carried out by the then colonial power, for not having respected the obligations imposed by the Conference of Berlin of 1885, today we are obliged to display a nationality that we do not believe we belong to. As Cabinda is a land blessed with natural resources, we have been demanding more social responsibility from the oil and mining companies that operate in the region. And the Angolan autorities instead respond with justice to these demands, they respond with oppression and more militarization of the enclave: stifling our freedoms and our yearnings for social justice, causing my fellow citizens to cultivate a culture of fear in denouncing the injustices that have afflicted us submit. In short, as I believe in the peace that flows from justice and the fact that rights are not a gift but an achievement, I have been contributing as an agent of change, for the emancipation of the civic conscience of my fellow citizens , using social networks and unpublished meetings to avoid further gratuitous repression and arbitrary arrests, financed with the salary that I earn monthly as an insurance broker and legal adviser.
I believe in the peace taht flows from justice
