My name is Anyanwu Joseph from Clean Gutter Movement Mission . Our office is at opposite St. Peters’ Anglican Church Okrika Rivers State.
We are a restless non-profit volunteering group, we are trying to make sure people maintain the good usage of street gutters and anybody caught misusing the street gutters will be disciplined. This Organization started in 2015. In Cleans Gutters Movement Mission we focused on cleaning up dirty gutters in local areas, states and beyond. According to our Research, we found out that each Gutter must be cleaned at least once in a week to maintain smooth flow of erosion so as to reduce flooding and water log in our residences. We clean up dirty gutters in order maintain smooth flow of water to its channel point. Having found that that majority of gutters in Nigeria are very dirty and people has neglected their duties in cleaning up the gutters. With this effect it has resulted black molds, smells, water damage, flooding, and some mothers are doping their unwanted babies inside the dirty gutter, breeding mosquitoes which contributed in high level of malaria sickness, Road damages which has increased road accidents we have now in our country to mention but few.
Even though they’re "out of sight and out of mind" for the majority of the time, our gutters actually play a huge role in the structural integrity of our houses, and keeping them clean is a great way to avoid the potentially costly expense of road and gutter repairs.
We have partnered with EWB Rivers state and others in order to clean up dirty gutters in my community, and to develop and encourage Water sanitation and hygiene related issues in Nigeria.
