The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Alumni Chapter of Kenya

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The YALI Alumni Chapter of Kenya exists to –

1. Build life-long friendships and networks among Alumni

Maintain and improve robust communication through personal relationships, email and social media.
Plan social and informational events designed around Alumni interests.
Provide opportunities for Alumni to connect with each other.
Recognize outstanding Alumni through various awards programs and various media.

2. Support alumni-led initiatives and programs to thrive

Organize and link alumni to opportunities for training, funding and networking in their areas of interest
Showcase alumni initiatives, activities and achievements

3. Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing by and among alumni

Provide platforms for alumni to share their passions and knowledge with other alumni and the world
Promote uptake by alumni of courses on the U-Learn and other online platforms

4. Promote alumni giving towards supporting Chapter activities

Entrench a culture of voluntary giving by alumni, both monetary and in-kind, towards realizing the Chapter objectives and plans

5. Pursue strategic partnerships and opportunities for alumni to give back by serving the community

Link alumni to specific initiatives and projects in the community where they can volunteer their time and skills in serving others
Partner with county governments in implementing youth empowerment programs in Counties

6. Make the Chapter the go-to youth-led organization in the Country with representation and impact across All of Kenya’s 47 Counties

Strengthen the organizational set up of the Chapter by having in place robust county Chapters and regional clusters
Enhance the Chapter’s branding and communication strategy
