Hear from and engage with two members of YouthMappers, a global network of young leaders that create resilient communities and define their world by mapping it. Kate Varfalameyeva and Maryam Shafiee Shakib will speak about their work using MapSwipe to address heat-related deaths in mobile home parks in Maricopa County, Arizona. They will also speak about their experience as members of the YouthMappers chapter at Arizona State University, which is one of 300+ student-led YouthMappers chapters worldwide.

Following their brief presentation, Kate, Maryam, and Al will join participants in a large-group discussion about the importance of youth engagement and mapping in international development. The webinar will conclude with a brief interactive mapping session suitable for mappers of all skill levels.

Presented by USAID's YouthPower 2: Learning and Evaluation Activity, the Youth Engagement Community of Practice (CoP) serves youth, practitioners in youth-serving organizations, and policymakers.

This event will include automatic English closed captioning (cc).
